Evi Shelvia loves sketching, drawing and writing. She never leaves home without a sketchbook.
Evi makes picture books for children - she has illustrated up to 60 titles so far including some that she wrote herself. Her books have been published in the USA, China, Malaysia, Singapore, and Indonesia. Some of them received awards such as Samsung Kidtime author award Singapore, 2nd best Malaysian children's picture book from Kota Buku Malaysia, and her first book became a hit 'Mover and Shaker' in Amazon Books.
She facilitates workshops, as well as becoming mentor and art director for children book's writer-illustrator on several Asian countries and South Africa under Room To Read Global Program USA, actively involved in collaboration programs with Let's Read-Asia Foundation, Kota Buku Malaysia, KLTCC Malaysia, AFCC Singapore, SCBWI Society, Bookaroo - Kuching Malaysia besides holding few of her own events as well.
Workshop Description
When we go on a journey, we see things, we admire things, we learn things along the way. But, how do we tell them to others through what we draw? And how do we tell them to children? Children love story telling, and drawing is an exceptional story teller.
This workshop will introduce you to the children's book illustration process, to bring your acquired sketching skill into the perspective of children' s book.
